If you listened to our first podcast episode, you know that I love All Time Low. So only imagine my excitement when they announced this record. I was looking forward to the new content and am still waiting on my shirt that I pre-ordered (thanks covid). With so many delays and current events, there was a part of me worried about not being able to hear this album when it was supposed to drop. But, as always, these boys didn’t let us down.
Some Kind of Disaster: This was the first single released from the album, and as time went on the band decided to release singles in order until the album dropped to keep spirits up. Nonetheless, this song was super unique for the band and I absolutely love the ending!
Sleeping In: Let’s be honest here, this song is absolutely the definition of pop-punk and it is FLAWLESS. Lead singer Alex Gaskarth defined it as “mosh pit material” and honestly, I would absolutely love to be in a punk pit for this. A total banger.
Getaway Green: Teen angst. I love it. Thank you Alex. ANYWAY. This song is completely perfect and pulls you in so quick. I have no doubt that this will be one of the most popular songs from the album. I love the chorus so much, and the bridge. Basically I love the song.

Melancholy Kaleidoscope: This is one half of my tie for favorites on the album. I love absolutely everything about this song. I love the honesty and the “can’t be 100 if you’re only giving 95” line is such a good call. This song will be with me for such a long time, if not forever. Plus it’s just beautiful?
Trouble Is: It brings me the vibes that “Guts” did from Dirty Work. There are many songs on this album that have very obvious ties to the bands previous work and I absolutely love that.
Wake Up, Sunshine: What a great sound for a title track. Plus with the current situation, “are you living well in a living hell” and “wake up, sunshine, somebody loves you for yourself” are such important lines and resonate so well with fans and people right now. There are so many songs on this album that just exude positivity which is the perfect thing for the time being.
Monsters (feat. Blackbear): And here we have the second half of my favorites on the album. I have listened to this song at least 12 times a day since the album dropped last Friday. I will admit I was nervous to hear the collaboration with Blackbear, but oh my GOD did it work. The chorus here is probably one of my favorites of all time. Plus Blackbear’s verse is so catchy and well written. I couldn’t possibly imagine this song being any different than it is. I love it.
Pretty Venom: If you look up beauty in the dictionary, this song will be the only definition. Not really obviously but I could listen to this song for hours. It is so calming and raw, it truly is beautiful.
Favorite Place (feat. The Band CAMINO): I honestly love the transition from “Pretty Venom” into this one, and I am a huge fan of the chorus for this one too. The sound from Jeffrey Jordan of The Band CAMINO gives such a different dynamic to the song. It’s emotional, light-hearted, fun, and can resonate with almost everyone who listens to it. It really is a masterpiece.

Safe: I am instantly taken back to “Walls” from Nothing Personal in the verse. The chorus is so melodic and flows so beautifully. I also seriously just want to drive around with the windows down during the summer to this on full volume. It’s a cruising song for sure.
January Gloom (Seasons, Pt. 1): Okay, this one reminds me of “It’s Complicated” by A Day To Remember in the beginning guitar track. But anyway. Overall, this song is super deep and emotional and I think that comparing it with its counterpart later in the album, it is one of the tracks that defines the bands immense creativity.
Clumsy: If you don’t imagine sining and dancing to this one as your own performance, I would question you. This is one of the most fun songs to sing on the album and I seriously hope they play it live because I can’t even begin to fathom what it’s like live. Plus the bridge towards the end would be such an enticing crowd moment.
Glitter & Crimson: Do you ever just have a song that makes your heart go “Awww” really loud and then you scream the chorus at the top of your lungs because there is absolutely no other way to listen to the song? That’s this one guys. Here it is. This.
Summer Daze (Seasons, Pt. 2): When put with “January Gloom” it’s a story within the story that is the album. I will always stand by All Time Low being one of the best artists out there and this tiny little aspect of the album proves that even further. Plus this song is super fun and just makes me want to dance. I can’t wait to sing this one in a huge crowd.
Basement Noise: A true culmination tune. This one definitely tugged at my heart strings. It’s homage to the bands journey from their basements to arenas, from family shows to thousands of die-hard fans. It truly makes me realize just how much I love these boys and how much their music has brought me. I’m so thankful for them.
I have been listening to All Time Low since 2014 and since 2014 I have been head over heels in love with Nothing Personal. I was firmly convinced that nothing could top that album for me. Hence the past tense. Wake Up, Sunshine is by far my favorite album released by All Time Low. There isn’t a single song on it that I don’t love. I cried, I jumped around, I screamed lyrics at the top of my lungs. I can’t imagine an album beating this one for me this year. According to Melancholy Kaleidoscope, “Can’t be 100 if you’re only giving 95”, and All Time Low gave 110 with “Wake up, Sunshine.”
