As many of you know, I am openly a very big marvel fan. I don’t dog too much on DC because I appreciate all types of movies and comics, marvel is just much more my style. I will admit, I walked into Birds Of Prey with lower expectations based on my previous DC experience. Was I correct?
Absolutely not. Birds of Prey was a joyous, sassy, rage-filled ride through the turmoil of Harley Quinn and her kick-ass feminist comrades. I had seen one review prior to watching the movie calling it “DC’s homage to Deadpool” and I couldn’t have said it better myself and I mean that in the best way possible.
The fourth wall breaks were executed perfectly, Margot Robbie brought the heat and her signature sassy and chaotic charm back to the character. I couldn’t have asked for a more fun and unique spin from what DC usually puts out, I enjoyed every second of this movie.

I think one thing we can all clearly see is that when DC puts out a gem of a movie, it’s got a female lead. Just my observation so far. I was surprised to see that the movie was being labeled a box office “flop”, and as it turns out, the results don’t exactly add up to that either. While the movie did underperform financially, it did rake in $33 million and opened at number one in the box office. That doesn’t seem like the worst thing ever…to me at least.
All I can say is see Birds of Prey in a theater near you! You won’t regret it…if you like having fun and can handle a little bit of sassy dialogue that is.
